Foot pain from running??? HELP plsss?

in Foot Questions and Answers

I keep having foot pain from running. It just keeps happening. Ive been running for a while n i dont get it. Now the top of my foot really hurts when i walk on it. The pain is like in the area right before my toes. More in the middle this time. Ive also had it more towards the side. Maybe its because i have small feet?????

Alright the answerer before me had one side of advice, I'll give the other.

You could have either injured those tendens or whatever they are that go to your toes. I did that to mine during cross country and the top of my foot hurt severly when I even slightly tried to lift my toes, or when I ran and pounded on it…I just had to take like 2 weeks off. It hurt right where those bone things that run to your toes are, on the one going to my big toe, but it could be any of them I guess.

Anyway another cause could be a stress fracture. I know you don't want to hear that, but it's possible and that's what I thought my problem was for a while until I got it checked out. If it's a stress fracture you might be out for something like 6 weeks…sucks, but if you keep running on it then it's just going to get worse and you'll have to take even more time off.

So the thing to do is go get it checked out. Go to a good doctor/physical therapist and hopefully they can tell you what it is. But what you can do for it now is ice it and you could actually tape it to remove a lot of the stress from running. You'll have to get a coach or someone to show you how to tape your foot, I can't explain it. And oh yeah, if you're shoes are worn out that could be a cause, so get new shoes if your suck.

Do you stretch before and after running? Try stretching especially after running. The position of your feet could also be a factor. Some people tend to internally or externally rotate more. Another factor is the shoes. Some shoes don't provide arch support and some shoes also are too hard especially on the balls of the foot.

All the steps I had to go through to find out what was wrong with my foot and then I had to tape it for a long time until it completely stopped hurting
